Habitat Success Stories

Gaines Family

Hello, my name is Sheereen Gaines. I am 33 years old and a lifelong resident of New Orleans. I was raised in the Algiers area. I attended L.B. Landry High School for 3 years and John McDonogh High the last three years. I have two beautiful kids, Shaira Rose (10) and Haze Rose (4). I work as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at a nursing home here in New Orleans. It has been by dream to own a home. Once I became a mother, I knew one day my dream would come true. I’ve always told myself that I wanted to become a homeowner before I make 35. New Orleans Habitat for Humanity has made that possible. I am so grateful for all the volunteers that support Habitat for Humanity. It’s a wonderful program. I would encourage anyone to become part of the family. My family and I are truly blessed. This will be a great experience for my kids and me.
