Be Part of Our Community

It takes a community to build communities. The Habitat community is everyone who sees affordable housing in the New Orleans area as a priority in their lives.

Here’s how you can get involved.

Volunteer

You can help build homes! Join Habitat on the build site. Our construction team will teach you how to build, and you may have the opportunity to work alongside Habitat homebuyers. You can also volunteer in our ReStores, helping on the sales floor or loading and unloading donations.

AmeriCorps

The AmeriCorps program began in 1993 as a federal program designed to provide opportunities for year-long service to nonprofits around the country. After Hurricane Katrina, AmeriCorps members were a significant part of the long-term recovery efforts. New Orleans Habitat has several AmeriCorps positions yearly.
