Donor Profile: Peter Mayer

As you walk through the Habitat ReStore, you’ll see the word “partner” everywhere: on the shirts that our partner families wear as they work around the store and on our Mission Wall, where we display our mission statement and show our gratitude for the sponsors, volunteers, and families that keep New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity rooted and growing in our community. We’re proud of all of our partners, and this week we’re excited to spread the word about our partners at Peter Mayer.

Steeped in New Orleans culture, Peter Mayer provides marketing services to local, regional, and national clients from its headquarters on Camp Street. The family-run agency was launched in 1967 by founder Peter Mayer and is currently run by his sons Mark Mayer, President and Josh Mayer, Chief Creative Officer. Business expanded quickly from handling local clients to working on a national scope, and they now have over two hundred employees, making Peter Mayer the largest independent advertising agency in the Gulf South.

In order to accommodate its growth in staff, Peter Mayer’s headquarters has been undergoing renovations over the past few years. Their new spaces are clean and modern but represent their love of culture and inspire creativity. Like their founder Peter, who has a history of advocating for social causes, they wanted to give back instead of throwing away. And, like many other local businesses, Peter Mayer found that the ReStore’s reliable donation pick-up service makes giving easy and convenient. As they’ve undergone renovations, they’ve continued to send desks, chairs, shelving and bookcases our way.

“What I love about the folks at Peter Mayer is how connected they are to the pulse of New Orleans,” says ReStore Director Wesley Griffin. “Their campaigns talk with New Orleanians – not just at them – and that conversation reveals the city’s needs. So, Peter Mayer gives with intention, understanding that the simple step of partnering with the Habitat ReStore is shrinking our landfills, saving our residents money and strengthening our families. We couldn’t be more excited to accept Peter Mayer’s generous donations.”
