Collegiate Challenge
A Collegiate Challenge trip may be the best school break trip you will ever have. What other program gives you and your friends an opportunity to travel to the state of your choice and spend a week rebuilding homes in one of America’s most cherished cities? You'll have the chance to learn carpentry skills and make a real difference in eliminating substandard housing. Contact us to order the Official Tee! Click here to view an image. To order, please complete the Order Form and submit it: By email to volunteer@habitat-nola.org or By mail to the Volunteer Services Office, ATTN: Melissa Manuselis, PO Box 15052, New Orleans, LA 70175. Step 1: Visit the Collegiate Challenge website to learn more about the program. The program fee will include lodging. Step 2: Reserve your spot and complete the registration process with Habitat for Humanity International. Your work dates will fall within one construction week (Tuesday-Saturday). Your group is welcome to volunteer for more than one week! Step 3: Once you are confirmed by Habitat for Humanity International, New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity will contact you with details about volunteering with us. Step 4: Complete the Initial Contact Information Form and return it to New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity. Step 5: Please submit your payment 10 business days prior to your arrival date. If we do not receive your payment, your reservation will be canceled. Step 6: Your group will need to organize your own transportation to and from the airport and to and from the work site. Step 7: Our construction sites start work at 7:45am and finish at 3:15pm . After your work day, your group is free to explore the city or work with other organizations. Please remember to get a full night’s rest so that you have a safe and rewarding construction experience on the next day. Step 9: Return home and tell your fellow students, friends, and family about your experience! If you would like to return to volunteer with us again, please visit our Volunteer page.
