Habitat Home Build (Spring/Summer Groups and Fall 2008): Construction of new Habitat homes. Tuesday-Saturday, 7:45am-3:15pm. This project includes these sites: Musicians' Village, Westbank, St. Bernard Parish and others. When you sign up for one of these, you will be manually assigned to a construction site and receive your morning meeting place closer to your date of volunteering. The needs of our construction sites vary so we place volunteers where they are most needed.  If you are scheduling yourself less than two weeks prior to your work date, please contact us directly.
ReStore Assistance (Non-Construction): Habitat ReStore is a home furnishing store that provides our homeowners and the community with affordable furniture and home supplies.  Wednesday-Saturday, 9:00am-5:00pm (however, please arrive at 9:30am).
Community Projects: St Bernard parish sits just southeast of New Orleans and was completely flooded after Hurricane Katrina. New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity shares our volunteer pool with other relief agencies in this area. *For more information about the community projects in St Bernard, please email Chris Weatherly.
More Community Project opportunities may be added shortly for end of summer/fall.  Please check back.
Our current projects include:

Community Center of St Bernard, www.ccstb.org, (Mon, Tue, Thurs, 9:30-4:30)
This organization provides clothes, meals, legal aid, and more to St. Bernard and Lower 9th Ward residents. To sign up to work for this project, look for projects starting with "Community-" on the Volunteer Calendar below.
St. Bernard Project, www.stbernardproject.org (Mon-Fri 9:00-4:00)
This organization has rehabbed over 100 flooded homes in St. Bernard Parish for low income seniors, the physically disabled, and single parent families.  To sign up to work for this project, look for "Community-" on the Volunteer Calendar below.
Holidays
Habitat for Humanity encourages our staff to spend the holidays with their families.  Our construction sites will be closed for the following dates.

Mardi Gras: February 4-5, 2008
* January 28-February 2 will also be limited, as Mardi Gras festivities also occur during this week.
Good Friday: March 21, 2008
Memorial Day: May 24 and 26, 2008
Independence Day: July 4, 2008
Labor Day: August 30 and September 1, 2008
Thanksgiving: November 27-28, 2008
Christmas: December 24-25, 2008
