Habitat Success Stories

St. Jean Family

I, Tyler St.Jean, am the mother of the adorable and hilarious Vivian Josephine Esperanza St. Jean.  We  both enjoy dressing up for all the festivities, listening to music and dancing though the streets. We are lovers of life and all beings, especially the six pet we have collectively: 3 dogs, 2 cats and 1 snake.

In order to pay for costumes and dog food, I desperately do what I  love. I teach all types of yoga to serve all types of people, always with an emphasis on mindfulness and transformation.  I also practice thai yoga massage, reiki and The Access Consciousness Bars, a series of acupressure points on the head that help to clear the mind and induce deep relaxation.

When I arrived in New Orleans ten years ago, I knew immediately that I never wanted to live anywhere else.  But by the time I had my daughter, became a yoga teacher and got my finances in order, the city had gotten pretty expensive.

I am  eternally grateful to Habitat for facilitating the opportunity for  become a home owner. Now my daughter and I will never have to leave the city we LOVE…the city where, I found myself, became a mother and discovered my gifts and purpose in life. It feels so appropriate and special to step up and become fully invested in this community.
