Habitat Success Stories

Poole Family

My name is Reid Poole and I am a full time musician, who spends my days performing and teaching in the Greater New Orleans area. Born and raised in Fountain, Colorado, I obtained a Bachelors of Music Education and Jazz studies from the University of Northern Colorado.

After teaching high school band and orchestra I decided to go back to school to pursue my Masters in Contemporary Media and Jazz Performance from Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY.

After moving to New Orleans I founded the band DinosAurchestra.  I also began teaching with Louisiana Academy for Performing Arts and The Irvin Mayfield School of Music.

I currently rent a room in the Musicians’ Village from a colleague of mine.  Loving the life of “the musician” in New Orleans, it was time to not only call this city HOME but to buy a house. I gave it a try, by applying to Habitat for Humanity in the New Orleans Area. Sure enough, I was approved. I can’t begin to tell you how happy and thankful I am for this opportunity and partnership with NOAHH.
