Donations We Accept

Your contributions are welcome and needed. Pickup of items is available, and every donation provides adequate housing to those in need.

Completely volunteer staffed, the Habitat ReStore is at 2830 Royal Street. To make a donation, drop it by the store, or call the Habitat ReStore at (504) 943-2240 to arrange for pickup. Currently pickup is available only on Tuesdays. The Habitat ReStore is open Tuesday thru Saturday 9:30am-5pm. The following lists a sample of what we desperately need but is by no means conclusive. Please visit us or call for any questions or concerns.

Appliances

We accept most appliances.All appliances must have all parts and be in complete working order.We do not accept any appliances older than 6 years old (exceptions include older O’Keefe and Merritt convection ovens and other specialty appliances).We will test them when they are brought in and if they do not work, will not accept them. Please include owners manuals if you have them, as they add value to your donation.

Bicycles

We accept bicycles in good working condition.

Cabinets/Countertops

We accept cabinets in complete units. They must have doors, shelving, display racks, etc. Countertops must be at least 5' long with no 'L' shaped and without damaged laminate or water damage.

Decor

We need new, unopened rools of shelf paper, wallpaper, and wall paper paste and paste remover.

Doors

We accept doors if they are in good condition only. They must not have holes, cracks, rot, etc.

Electrical

We accept electrical parts, wire, plugs, plates and the hardware associated with electrical wiring. They must be reusable.

Fans

We accept fans if they are complete and in working condition only.

Flooring material

We accept a minimum of 2 boxes of the same kind of flooring (ceramic, vinyl, wood laminate). We accept adhesives and other misceleneous flooring materials as well.

Furniture

We accept any kind of furniture that is reusable with no stains, rips, or other noticeable damage.

Garden

We need new work gloves and usable garden tools.

Hardware

We accept hardware for doors, cabinets, etc. Ensure they are not rusty and all parts are intact.

Insulation

We accept new, packaged insulation only.

Light Fixtures

We accept all light fixtures in working condition. No ballasts with pcb's. Light bulbs should be in original packaging.

Lumber • Plywood • Sheetrock • Trim

We accept full and1/2 sheets of plywood. We accept full lengths of lumber. We accept trim in smaller pieces, but not less than 4 feet long. Please, no rot or nails sticking out of lumber.

Mirrors

We accept undamaged mirrors.

Paint • Wallcoverings

We accept only FULL cans of paint. Wallpaper is taken in full, unopened rolls. We also need new tubes of caulk, paint brushes, rollers/roller trays, roller covers etc.

Pipe • Pvc • Metal • Copper

We accept 4' and over of any type of pipe, and all supplies and fittings. Pipes should not be clogged.

Plumblng • Tubs • Sinks • Showers • Commodes

We accept tubs, sinks and vanities if they are in good condition and clean. We accept commodes only if they are in working condition and are the low flush (1.6 gallon) type. They must be very clean!! We will not take a dirty commode under any circumstance.

Roofing Material • Gutters • Canales

We accept all types of roofing material such as rolled roofing material, tar, metal roofing, bundles of new shingles. We also accept roofing gutter/canale materials that are in full pieces and are not rusty, bent up or damaged.

Tools

We accept all hand and power tools in good working condition. Power tools should not have frayed or cut cords.

Windows • Screens

We accept windows of all types if the glass is intact. Most windows will show use, even if they are newer. If they are casement type, we appreciate having the hardware and cranks.
