Habitat Homes

New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity builds safe, affordable homes in partnership with its sponsors, partner families, and hard working volunteers.  Each Habitat home is constructed with help from skilled construction hands to ensure the structural integrity of each home is of the highest standard.  Facing Hurricane Katrina's 100 m.p.h winds, Habitat homes did not suffer external or structural damage.  On streets where homes lost walls, roofs, or simply crumbled from the crushing winds, Habitat homes still stand straight, fully intact.

Habitat has always built to Florida hurricane codes, and will continue to make certain Habitat homeowners reside in the best possible dwellings.   If you would like to learn more about Habitat's builidng codes, please read about the Florida Building Codes.

We will update this page very soon to include our latest building plans, building codes, floor plans and design specifications.
