Thank you for considering a donation to New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity. Each gift helps a family in need of shelter purchase a new, affordable home.  We take seriously our responsibility to contributors, to those counting on our organization to rebuild a better New Orleans.  

Support from around the country continues to be strong.  Since March 2006, NOAHH and its partners have completed 95 new homes in New Orleans and dozens more are in various stages of construction.  With continued support from donors like you our goal of building over 200 new homes in 2008 will become reality.  

House Sponsorships
The 2008 cost to build a Habitat home is $85,000.  House Sponsors provide this funding and are invited to work side by side with our partner families, volunteers, and staff to build houses from the ground up.  Habitat houses are sold to partner families at cost through a zero-interest mortgage.  Instead of a downpayment, partner families contribute 350 hours of "sweat equity" to the construction of Habitat houses.  No profit is ever made on the sale of a Habitat house.  NOAHH welcomes all people, corporations, foundations, and organizations to raise their hammers, their funding, and their voices, to share in a movement to eliminate substandard housing and rebuild New Orleans.
