New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity is building new single-family homes through the use of NSP 1 funds. In the implementation of these projects the following jobs may be available: electrical, plumbing, site-prep, foundation and piling work, sheetrock, flooring, etc.
To the greatest extent feasible, potential employment and training positions will be made available to low-and very low-income persons who permanently reside in New Orleans. Names of qualified low-income persons will be made available to contractors. Additionally, the following contracts and procurements will be made to the greatest extent feasible to businesses located in New Orleans which currently employ or commit to employing local low-and very low income persons: foundation work, insulation, sheetrock and tape and bed installation services, flooring, electrical installation, plumbing installation, HVAC installation services, and site prep and building materials, including roofing, hardi-siding, windows and doors, lumber and paint.
