4-Star Rating from Independent Charity Evaluator
Charity Navigator Issues 2008 Rankings


November 12, 2008 (NEW ORLEANS, LA) New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity (NOAHH) has received four out of a possible four stars from Charity Navigator, America’s premier independent charity evaluator. In earning Charity Navigator's highest four star rating, NOAHH has demonstrated exceptional financial health, outperforming most of its peers in its efforts to manage and grow its finances in the most fiscally responsible way possible.

Charity Navigator is America's premier independent charity evaluator. They help charitable givers make intelligent giving decisions by providing in-depth, objective ratings and analysis of the financial health of America's largest charities.

“We strive to be the best stewards of our donor’s money,” stated Jim Pate, Executive Director of New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity. “They put their trust in our affiliate to support our mission of building low-income housing and we take that trust very seriously. We are proud to receive Charity Navigator’s 4-Star ranking as an indicator of our good stewardship.”

New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity, an independent affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization. NOAHH builds new houses in partnership with sponsors, volunteers, communities, and homeowner families to eliminate poverty housing in the New Orleans area while serving as a catalyst to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. Since its inception in 1983, NOAHH has built over 250 new homes for low-income families in need of adequate shelter. NOAHH plans to continue to build homes in Orleans, Jefferson, St. Bernard, St. Charles and Plaquemines Parishes. www.habitat-nola.org
